Adult Swim Lessons in Albany, NY

It’s never too late to learn how to swim or to perfect your swimming skills, even as an adult! From beginner to intermediate skill levels, our adult swim lessons will fit your needs.

Our curriculum for adult swimming classes is a logical progression created with the adult swimmer in mind. We introduce skills to our swimmers to help them safely gain confidence in the water, at the pace they desire. As our adult swimmers improve upon their technical skills we focus on building endurance in the water, and developing a higher level of comfort in the pool.

Adult Swim Instruction Focusing on Water Comfort and Safety

Swimming lessons for adults are held on Friday evenings at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. The classes are focused on increasing the comfort level of each swimmer while teaching basic water safety instruction throughout each class.

  • Small, intimate swim classes with no more than 5 students per instructor
  • Developmentally appropriate for adults ages 18+
  • Classes are 40 minutes in length to provide enough time for instruction and practice
  • Scheduled class times of 6pm and 6:40pm
  • Beginner and Intermediate groups offered

Sundays at Albany Academy: 1/6, 1/13, 1/20, 1/27, 2/3, 2/10
**Classes offered at 8:30am, 9:10am, and 9:50am

Group Fee: $125 for 6 weeks
Private Fee: $275 for 6 weeks

Adult Beginner

Our beginner level is most appropriate for any adult who has little to no experience in the water. The skills focused on are water comfort/air regulation, kicking and floating basics, and assisted swims.

Adult Intermediate

Our intermediate group is most appropriate for any adult who is comfortable going under the water, understands the basic concepts of kicking and pulling, and is able to swim a short distance (10 ft) unassisted.


Private lessons are guaranteed 1:1 lessons for adults looking for more individualized instruction. The goals of the class and session will be determined on an individual basis.
