Private

Private lessons are guaranteed 1:1 lessons for those looking for more individualized instruction. Typically swimmers will be taught per the Excel curriculum, but may also deviate based on the goals for the swimmer, and may be discussed with the site supervisor and instructor at the time of the lesson.

Semi-Private

Semi-Private lessons are 2:1 classes taught following the Excel curriculum. This setup is perfect for pairs of siblings or friends who would like to take a class together, but would prefer to limit the class size. We recommend swimmers be at comparable skills levels to get the most out of each lesson.

Beginner Group

Beginner lessons are specifically designed for children with little to no experience in the water. The primary focus is developing a comfort for the water in a small group setting, while learning the fundamentals of basic swimming skills. Specific skills covered are:

  • Independent underwater submersion
  • Superman glide off wall
  • Independent back float
  • Kicking, floating, and scooping

Intermediate Group

Intermediate classes are for those swimmers who are comfortable in the water, have experience in a lesson program and are making strides towards swimming independently. Swimmers in this group still require a small amount of assistance (either a 2 or 1 powerpack, or the support of a coach) but are able to demonstrate strong kicking and floating skills. Skills covered are:

  • Independent front and back kick
  • Air regulation while kicking/scooping
  • Independent scoops for 25+ ft

Advanced Group

Advanced classes are for those swimmers who are able to swim short distances independently (25ft) without the help of a coach, but cannot yet demonstrate rotary breathing, windmill arms, or basic backstroke. Skills covered in this group are:

  • Rotary breathing
  • Catchup Freestyle with arms out of water
  • Basic Backstroke
